Happy New Year and NO(!) resolutions

(4 posts)
  1. Happy New Year all, I hope 2010 proves to be a good one for you all.

Things here are busy and somehow I am dragged (not kicking and screaming I might add) into the bowls of bike land, so I'll have some interesting stuff to throw up here over the year.

True to form, no New Year's resolutions on my end. On Christmas morning I just decided to get up and start riding again, which I did in the pea soup that they call Queensland weather. Been going ever since and it's FUGG'N ACE! Not sure about the old knee though but hey, I'm officially old in a few weeks (how'd that happen?).

    So how 'bout ya'll?

  2. Hope you all had a great festive season.

Mine was a quiet affair with family and friends but good all round. I don't have any resolutions to speak of either except to ride more and do a few more marathon races...

One of the great things about going from the 2 car family to 1 car is that I'm now riding more which is great, although I'm also at the mercy of public transport more too - boo... but even after a couple of weeks of riding 4-5 days a week I can feel the fitness is starting to return, even if the knees are now complaining that the Soma is now SS...

I'm still in the throws of getting the new bike together and it shouldn't be too much longer (fingers crossed!). I've got most of the parts, just a few more to go and we'll be sweet...

  3. Happy new year one and all. No real resolutions for me either other than to try and lift the mileage on the bike a bit.

Plans for the year - convert the jekyll to 2 x 8

try to be Zen with roadies and motorists alike!

    drink good beer

that'll do -don't want to get too silly

PS - G what age is officially old?

  4. Yes indeed, compliments of the season to all! (I've always wanted to say that as my old man would spout that for the whole of January each year. And "See you next year" on NYE).

The usual resolution, not just a new year one, is to ride more. This has proved a challenge with little ones but as they get older times are becoming more conducive to biking.

I too would love to join the realm of 1 car families buddha but at the mo' having 2 cars is tooooo practical, even though I hate them. Get in touch for a ride or 10 brother. There are some exciting trails that have been uncovered up here!
